Amazing Experience Riding on Maui
"Aloha, I just finished an amazing solo trip to Maui. I decided I wanted to ride on the island this time for a different kind of adventure and Errol totally hooked up - while on vacation in Turkey, no less! After a few days in the north, my plan for 2nd part of my trip was to rent a bike and head down to Hana to camp for 4 days, and explore on/off road where I could."
"Errol picked a Yamaha CR250L for me, which was perfect. I'm not the tallest at 5'8" so the Yamaha fit me well. Plenty of power and fun, easy to ride. The ride to Hana itself was super cool and beautiful, of course. A local (now a good friend) sent me to a great little place overlooking the ocean to chill and zen out and he even rode with me on the last day before i had to head back."
"Probably the biggest highlight was riding all the way around the south end of island up through Kula and Makawao, back to Hana. Of course, the rougher the road, the more fun ;) Found some random trails to beach, etc which is the best. I can't say enough about my experience with Maui Moto Adventures, I will always rent from Errol on island, will be back to ride again as soon as I can and do a tour with him. Mahalo"
ABOUT "ROAD TO HANA" ADVENTURE TOUR IN MAUI (MORE PHOTOS):
The road to Hana is a must do while on Maui! 620 curves and 59 bridges bring you to the most pristine part of the island filled with lush rainforest, massive waterfalls and truly breath-taking scenery, and there is no better way to experience it than on a Dual Sport motorcycle. The road to Hana is one of the curviest in the world and truly a famous road, but that is just discussing the North shore! We get to comfortably do the entire loop.
After leaving our shop in Kahului we take the counterclockwise route, instead of clockwise like everyone else and gain elevation around the backside. First, we come into Upcountry Maui, where the landscape quickly changes from cactus fields into a green countryside paradise. You will get views of the Islands of Kahoolawe, Molokini, Lanai as well as the West Maui mountains, and enjoy it in the cooler upcountry climate.
Once through the Kaupo side, we will go off-road down to a hidden cove and beach to visit one of the most unexplored parts of the island filled with great trails, where we will see more goats than people.
When we make it to Hana, we continue all the way around the North side of Haleakala Volcano, where the terrain changes again from lush rainforest and waterfalls to a cliffside road surrounded by bamboo, headed towards the Haiku side. Once near Paia, we will stop at Ho’okipa beach to see the large waves the brave surfers are challenging themselves with. Then back to town we go!
